McNally Guitars SD Sunburst, new. A superb instrument from Northern Irish luthier Ciaran McNally, who we have been stocking here since day one. Constructed with a Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides. This guitar is the exact one currently showcased on Ciaran's site for this model.
"The SD is my modern take on the classic Slope Shoulder Dreadnought. I’ve made the shape a little curvier in places, but the fundamental proportions of the design are unchanged.
The main difference from an SD versus a traditional dreadnought is the scale length. Here we have a shorter 24.9” which reduces the string tension, giving a warm & woody tone, as well as increased playability. The tone naturally leans more vintage, particularly in it’s most natural wood combination of Spruce and Mahogany." - Ciarán
