Wayne Henderson Dreadnought 1976

1976 Wayne Henderson Dreadnought, in overall very good vintage condition. Incredibly rare. A stunning take on a herringbone D-28, constructed by the legendary Wayne Henderson - one of the most widely respected luthiers on the planet, going so far as to be awarded a National Heritage Fellowship at the White House for his extraordinary instrument making. We've had four of Wayne's guitars over the years and we have always been floored by them.

T
his is a very low serial model at #34. Constructed with a Spruce top and Rosewood back and sides, complete with some gorgeous ornate inlay work on the headstock. A phenomenal sounding guitar. Our inhouse luthiers have carried out a full neck reset and made a new bone saddle for the guitar. Wayne Henderson is best known for being the subject of "Clapton's Guitar: Watching Wayne Henderson Build the Perfect Instrument", outlining the process of his making of an OM for Eric Clapton, as well as building guitars for artists such as Tommy Emmanuel, Doc Watson, Peter Rowan and Gillian Welch. With a waiting list that spans decades this is a rarity for one to come up for sale, especially on this side of the pond. Includes a NOHSC, not pictured.
