Martin D-28 John Martyn UK Artist Series (Limited to 25 Units) 2009

Martin D-28 John Martyn UK Artist Series, limited to 25 units worldwide - hand signed by John Martyn himself just very very shortly before his passing - this run was released posthumously.

Main Martin distributor Westside Distribution, had began a commissioned programme of artist signature models for the UK market, to honour artists from the UK who had a long standing history of using Martins - in very very limited quantities. This model was the third in the series. Constructed with a premium Sitka Spruce top and gorgeous East Indian Rosewood back and sides, featuring an intricate inlay of the album cover for Martyn's seminal "Solid Air" to mark the fifth fret. Factory Waverly tuners and the neck dimensions and choice of headstock were influenced by Martins within John Martyn's own collection. The wider fingerboard measures at 1 3/4" at the request of Martyn during the development of this model.

Arguably one of the finest dreadnoughts we have ever had the pleasure of playing, this guitar has incredible tonality - it has depth and resonance like a grand piano nearly! In Musicradar's review of this model they praised it saying - "Simply put, the John Martyn D-28 is the finest dreadnought this reviewer has ever played.".

Includes OHSC and pictured paperwork.
