1961 Gibson Les Paul Special Double Cut Cherry, a seriously authentically played machine. A truly fantastic guitar, which has definitely seen some action. Super rare crown inlay model. The finish is fully original and has checked beautifully over the years. An absolutely phenomenal player - very resonant. No breaks or cracks. The pickups have been converted to a '64/'65 Pat No. squarehole (Pre T-Top) in the bridge position and '67-'68 T-Top in the neck position. Previously had different tuners, the original Klusons are now back on. Three professionally filled holes from previous strap button placements and there is four tiny holes under the bridge from where most likely a tremolo was mounted at one point. The guitar has had a professional re-fret, a small piece of binding was re-glued at the time. Filled hole in the pickguard, no hole in the body beneath. Original Centralab pots, very rare original reflector knobs and original Black Beauty & Bumblebee Sprague caps. Includes a non-original flightcase.
