Moose Electronics Sledgehammer Overdrive

Moose Electronics Sledgehammer Bass Overdrive, new. Hand-made in Dublin.

"The continued evolution of the LM308 based circuit seen in the Battlehammer is my fully tricked out overdrive/distortion that also does clean and fuzztones making it the most versatile pedal in the range. At its core is an LM308 op amp clipping as seen in the classic rat circuits of the 1980s with a three-way clipping toggle varying levels of compression and dynamics, silicon diodes will give the most compressed tone and gain, no diodes for most headroom and dynamics and lastly LEDs for a crunchy and punchy tone.

The tone section or stack allows for a huge tone sculpting power taking influence from both Matamp circuits and SVTs but with even more control than both. The bass cuts and boosts low end from approx. …Hz. The mid control is parametric so you can dial in the perfect frequency from very low mids to high mids. Along with the frequency control there’s alos a Q or bandwidth control that does narrow and wide along with an extra narrow setting for funky resonant sounds or precise/surgical frequency cut or boost. Lastly the treble control cuts or boosts high end at approx. ..KHz

Then there’s a Jfet powered clean blend with a three-way passive low pass filter to preserve clean low end, varying from lows and low mids to quite hard low pass to give the clean signal more of a sub bass quality.

Boost is a Mosfet clean boost allowing up to approx. 26dB of clean volume boost, super useful for low gain settings, or really pushing your amp or even going direct to a power amp.
